Kathryn Sawicki, Pharm.D., BCACP

Dr. Kathryn Sawicki is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of New England’s School of Pharmacy. She is a graduate of the University of New England and was a member of the class of '16. Following graduation she completed a Community Pharmacy Residency Program at Penobscot Community Health Care (PCHC). During her time as a resident at PCHC she participated in expanding the role of the clinical pharmacist into the transitions of care arena, pioneered a pharmacist-managed hepatitis C testing and treatment initiative, and helped to integrate pharmacists into medication assisted treatment and recovery programs in the greater Bangor area.
Following her residency she continued to work as a Clinical Pharmacist imbedded in a primary care office at Brewer Medical Center in Brewer, Maine. There she focused on linking underserved patients to hepatitis C treatment and recovery programs.
Dr. Sawicki is now a Clinical Primary Care Pharmacist at Penobscot Community Health Center in Bangor, Maine. In her clinical role she works with other members of the healthcare team to mange a variety of chronic disease states, including diabetes and anticoagulation. She is a mentor and preceptor to Penobscot Community Health Care's PGY-1 pharmacy residents and students in their fourth year can complete a 6 week ambulatory care Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience in Bangor with Dr. Sawicki.
