Emily K. Dornblaser, Pharm.D., M.S., BCPS
Location
Dr. Emily Dornblaser joined the UNE School of Pharmacy faculty in August 2009 as an Assistant Professor in the Pharmacy Practice Department. She completed her Pharm.D. degree at the University of Pittsburgh in 2007. After graduation, she moved to Philadelphia to complete a pharmacy practice residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. She then stayed at the University of Pennsylvania to complete a specialty residency in Critical Care Pharmacy. As a founding faculty member at the College of Pharmacy, she helped to design and deliver both didactic and experiental learning in its many iterations.
Her experience in curriculum design solidified her passion for teaching and in 2015 she completed her Masters in Medical Education and Leadership at the University of New England. Areas of pedagogical and scholarly interest include reflective writing to improve clinical judgment, best practices in global pharmacy education, and the influence of workforce demands on curriculum design. She has served nationally as secretary, chair-elect, chair, and immediate past chair of the AACP Global Pharmacy Education SIG from 2011-2016. In 2017 she became a tenured, associate professor in the Pharmacy Practice Department. She has served as the Interim Director for the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning from 2017-2019 and during this time chaired the University Strategic Plan Priority 1: Teaching and Learning task force. She currently serves on multiple university advisory boards related to student learning, has chaired the Assessment and Evaluation Committee, Student Progressions, and Academic Affairs committee in the School and served as a co-chair for the Faculty standard of the NEASC University accreditation self-study committee. In 2019, she assumed the role of Director of Interprofessional Education at the School of Pharmacy. She was named Interim Dean of the School of Pharmacy in May 2022-Sept. 2023.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time hiking and gardening with her family. She enjoys biking, swimming and is looking forward to resuming competition in triathlons.
